DRYDEN DRAIN PROJECT

The Dryden Drain Project is a major infrastructure upgrade designed to repair and replace a 100-year-old storm sewer system in Dryden, MI. Managed by the Lapeer County Drain Commissioner, the project aims to reduce localized flooding. Construction is active now and scheduled to run through September 2027.

Contract 1 (Enclosed Drain): This involves installing roughly 8,200 feet of new storm sewer pipes (ranging from 8 to 42 inches in diameter) and building underground water storage areas to control runoff. It also includes some local watermain replacement on Pleasant Street.
Contract 2 (Open Drain): This focuses on maintaining, grading, and improving open channel sections to safely guide water out of the village.

Because large excavation and pipe-laying equipment will be moving through the village, residents can expect localized traffic control, temporary utility adjustments, and street restoration as different phases of the work are completed.
